History Colorado's Archives collection includes books, manuscript collections, maps, newspapers, serial publications, subject collections, indexes, and more.
More than 750,000 photographs and 250,000 negatives reflect Colorado history from the 1840s to the present.
History Colorado's collection includes a wide array of artifacts reflecting more than 12,000 years of human presence in Colorado and the region.
Artifacts are available for research through our Library & Research Center. Advance notice for certain objects may be required. To see a selection of our artifacts, visit h-co.org/collections.
Located in the Office of Archaeology & Historic Preservation, the Heckendorn Preservation Collection contains hard-to-find materials related to archaeology, architecture, and historic preservation.
